Chandramouli P Faculty Fellowship in the Department of Mechanical Engineering

Description

The 1987 batch of Mechanical Engineering alumni would like to institute a named Faculty Fellowship in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in honor of Prof. P. Chandramouli, who is currently serving as the Head of the Department. This fellowship aims to recognize young faculty members excelling in research and teaching.

The IIT Madras Faculty Fellow Program is designed to recognize and reward high-performing young faculty. This initiative supports young faculty who demonstrate exceptional early-career achievements in research, consultancy, social impact, and patent development, while also mentoring students.

Faculty Fellowships
Fellowships are awarded through an endowment $160,000, with returns providing compensation. The Fellowship has a 5-year term, with no extension, and is periodically reviewed based on performance in teaching and research.

Selection Process
Once an endowment is created, IIT Madras calls for applications. A selection committee reviews applicants based on research excellence, teaching plans, and publication records. Fellowships can be established in specific research areas or within departments, with certain restrictions to ensure broad eligibility.

We request fellow alumni to contribute generously to this cause.
