Heritage Club Fund - Endowment

Description

Why are we asking:

• The Heritage Club comprises of students from IIT Madras who are enthusiastic about the various facets of the heritage of the Institute. The students are keen learners who enjoy visiting places of historical significance. They plan trips to museums and important places, gathering the best ideas and sharing them with us in order to make the Heritage Centre up-to-date and ever-evolving. They also go for Heritage Walks on the IIT Madras campus to familiarise students with the campus and to stay in touch with the boundless beauty which brims in this forest.

To fund:

• Tours to various museums and historical sites could entail significant expenses, such as transportation and refreshments. To cater for a large group of students, we may need to rent one or more buses. Additionally, students might need to be provided with meals or refreshments during the trip.

• Heritage Walks on the IIT Madras campus are done with the aid of brochures and refreshments. A boost in funds would help the students conduct these walks regularly with more ease and anticipation.

• Participants at the Heritage Centre can enjoy refreshments and treats during regular activities such as films, volunteering, and reading. These activities require funds.

What IITM gets out of it:

• The students will remain motivated and active, learning and experiencing a great deal of things through their tours. It will keep them grounded to the real world and they will provide ideas to improve the exhibitions at the Heritage Centre based on their observation.

• A unique and rare activity which not many people get to experience.

• It will boost IIT Madras’ ratings on the national and international level.

• Students will be more aware of the history of the Institute and will take active measures to contribute to the growing corpus of historical information available to the Institute.

• It will be a thrill for the parents to know that their children are actively involved in various interesting activities at the Institute.

What the donor can receive in return:

• Heritage Walks will be named after the donors and their names will be printed on the brochures.

• Tours will be named after the donors.
