About the Cause
IIT Madras is the first IIT to open an offshore campus. The campus is located in the Zanzibar island. Two programs are starting this year: (i) BS in Data Science and AI and (ii) M.Tech in Data Science and AI. We expect students from Zanzibar/Tanzania and other African countries to join the program. Admissions are offered to Indian students also. Many of these highly motivated and deserving students might need financial assistance to pay the tuition fees and funds for living expenses. We request the support of the alumni to help these students realize the dream of acquiring our prestigious IIT Madras degree. This initiative will, in the long run, generate international alumni for IIT Madras while significantly enhancing the global reputation of IIT Madras.
How the money will be use
To pay mainly tuition fees (12000 USD per year for the BS program and 4000 USD for the MTech program).
