Why are we asking:
Our aim is to enhance the informative, imaginative and interactive aspects of our exhibits. We currently have exhibits such as the workshop bench and numerous photographs. Additionally, we plan on creating a Campastimes booth where our visitors can access printed copies of the legendary magazine. We are also considering ideas like the 'spot yourself here' corner, which will be designed for alumni. However, these ideas require financial support as there are certain expenses involved in printing posters and building booths.
To fund:
• Poster-printing expenses for exhibits.
• Materials required to build physical spaces such as booths.
• Electronic items such as iPads and other gadgets to make our exhibits more interactive and to help the Heritage Centre of IIT Madras keep up with the changing technology used at museums.
• Brochures and other goodies which can be given to visitors at each exhibit.
What IITM gets out of it:
• An improved, state-of-the-art museum with all the latest facilities and glamour.
• A boost in national and global ratings.
• Make a positive impression on visitors and VIPs
• It would provide a better platform to showcase the vast body of materials that we have.
