Description
We are Team Avishkar Hyperloop, the student-led hyperloop team at IIT Madras, working to revolutionize high-speed transportation. Our goal is to represent India at European Hyperloop Week (EHW) 2025 in Groningen, Netherlands, where top hyperloop teams from around the world compete to advance hyperloop technology. Having completed the design and prototyping phase, we are now moving into manufacturing. Under the guidance of our faculty advisor, Prof. Satya Chakravarthy, our progress has been promising, and we are confident that our pod has the potential to compete at the highest level. To turn this vision into reality, we need your support to procure essential components and fund the development of our next hyperloop pod, driving innovation forward. Our Next Step: Building a New Pod for EHW 2025: To compete at European Hyperloop Week 2025, we are building a new hyperloop pod featuring a vacuum-compatible cabin, designed for enhanced performance in near-vacuum conditions. Your support is crucial in helping us manufacture and test this pod. In addition to component procurement and manufacturing, logistics remains a major challenge. Transporting our pod and team to Groningen, Netherlands, requires significant financial support for:
- Manufacturing and development of the pod, including critical systems for levitation, propulsion, and control.
- Shipping the pod and equipment securely across continents.
- Travel and accommodation for our team to participate in the competition.
Our Journey So Far
We participated in the EHW 2024 edition and we won the following awards
1. Top 5 in the Most Scalable Design award category powered by Hardt Hyperloop.
2. Top 5 in the Thermal Management award category powered by Würth Elektronik Group.
3. Top 5 in the Complete Systems category.
4. Top 2 in the Technical Aspects of Full-Scale Hyperloop Research category, for our work on "Analysis of Shockwaves in Hyperloop Systems."
We also recently participated in GHC 2025, which was hosted here at IIT Madras from the 21st to the 24th of February. We participated in multiple categories and won:
1. Best Embedded Subsystem
2. Best Traction Subsystem
3. DesignX Best Thermal Subsystem
4. Innoquest Technical Research
5. Runner-up in Innoquest Hyperloop Network
In our initial years, we:
- Were the only Asian finalists in the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition 2019.
- Developed India’s first vacuum-compatible hyperloop pod.
- Participated in European Hyperloop Week (EHW) in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, continuously advancing our technology.
Our journey continues as we push the boundaries of hyperloop technology, preparing to represent India at EHW 2025 in Groningen, Netherlands.
Support Our Journey to EHW 2025
With EHW 2025 scheduled earlier in July and featuring stricter technical requirements, we need your support to:
- Procure critical components for our levitation and propulsion systems.
- Conduct vacuum tube testing to validate performance.
- Transport our pod and team to Veendam, Netherlands, for EHW 2025 to compete at the highest level.
This is more than just a competition—it is an opportunity to drive the future of transportation in India. With your support, we can take another step towards making hyperloop a reality.
Join us in building the future of sustainable mobility.
