Description
A collaborative, open-access platform created, by the people for the people, to bring together water quality data, insights, and stories from diverse communities, researchers, and institutions. It aims to democratize access to water-related information, enhance water-literacy among students and the community, and support data-driven decision-making for sustainable water management.
The People's Water Data Platform is a student-driven initiative aimed at enabling quality, equity, and innovation in water governance. It combines an online course on water quality theory and data analysis with hands-on fieldwork across India and globally, including Israel and Uganda. Participants from diverse regions contribute to building a reliable map of urban and rural water quality. The platform empowers communities, researchers, and institutions with accessible data and insights, fostering collaboration and informed decision-making. This initiative supports SDG 6 by promoting clean and safe water for all through education, engagement, and open data sharing. Our dream is to have data from 1 million homes.
