Description
To Fund:A large portion of the Heritage Centre is occupied by a glass dome. The glass dome houses temporary exhibitions that are changed every 2-3 months and are relevant to events taking place on the campus.
Some of the exhibition themes would be:
- Clubs of IITM
- Institute and the industry
- IITM and Innovations
- The IITM Campus – an ever changing space
- Inter-IIT Sports Meet: Over the decades
- IIT Madras through a lens: A no audio and only video exhibition shot by students
How it benefits IITM:
- The heritage Centre is a space that is currently the first stop that any distinguished visitor makes while visiting the campus. The temporary exhibitions will give them an insight into what is currently happening at IIT Madras.
- Visitors from outside are more likely to visit there is an incentive of seeing something new in the Centre every time they visit.
- The Heritage Centre will become a popular museum of sorts and this will help IITM with publicity.
- Student, faculty and other people in IIT will get to experience and learn about the heritage of the Institute.
How it benefits the donor:
- The donor will be credited in videos etc. and on material printed specifically for the exhibition.
- The donor could be invited as the chief guest for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the opening of the exhibitions they sponsored.
- The dome will be named after the donor of donor provides an endowment
