Quantum Mechanics is considered to be the next big thing not only in physics, but in the entire world of science and technology. Recently, Quantum computers have been making news as they are almost certainly the next big thing since the personal computer.
In the field of Quantum Mechanics, a phenomenon called the Stern-Gerlach (SG) experiment was a revolutionary experiment that paved the way to deviate from classical physics phenomena into Quantum Mechanics. A few students in IIT Madras were so inspired by this experiment that they wanted to perform the same experiment for the first time in India. Even though funds were limited, the students, under the guidance of their Professor, came extremely close to replicating the experiment. There is only one part of the apparatus that remains to be completed. If this experiment is successful, it will be a revolutionary achievement for India and the whole world would take notice.
Thus we reach out to you, the Alumni of IIT Madras to contribute towards the success of this experiment, thus adding another feather in the cap of the long list of accomplishments by IIT Madras students and faculty.
