Mechanica 2026, the annual mechanical engineering festival organized by the Mechanical Engineering Association at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, will be held on April 24–26, 2026. With a legacy of over 15 years, Mechanica brings together students, researchers, alumni, and industry leaders to explore the future of engineering innovation.
This year’s edition focuses on electric mobility, intelligent systems, automation, and sustainable engineering, providing a platform where academic ideas evolve into real-world technological solutions.
Mechanica 2026 is expected to host 3,000+ participants from over 200 institutions across India. The festival will feature hands-on workshops, national-level competitions (₹1,20,000 prize pool), technical quizzes (₹15,000 prize pool), a hackathon with industry-provided problem statements, and engaging alumni talks and panel discussions.
By combining technical depth with industry collaboration, Mechanica aims to inspire the next generation of engineers while strengthening the bond between students, alumni, and industry partners of Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
