Description
India’s biggest cultural experience and Asia’s largest college festival, Saarang is back again and this year, it will be hosted between the 9th to 13th of January 2025, owes its success to the youthful vigour of 850+ students who work tirelessly throughout the year to make it a remarkable celebration.
With 100+ events, competitions and 5 professional nights, Saarang is recentering Chennai’s cultural sphere to our campus with a bang this time! We have always been dishing out record breaking national numbers with an impressive footfall of 80K+. We also have an impressive social media reach of 300K+ followers on Facebook, 35K+ followers on our verified Instagram handle, and 4K+ followers on Twitter. We also have a great poster reach of 12L+ and 20L+ clicks on our official Saarang page.
The campus streets will come alive to refresh Saarang veterans’ old memories and sear new ones in the minds of the newer batches. Witnessing the explosion of colours all around and the hubbub of laughter and music is something akin to a religious experience that is on the bucket list of every student and faculty member alike. It is safe to say that Saarang is one of the biggest must-witness events happening in Chennai in January.
Our Social Campaign
Saarang has always been committed to social causes and how we wish to help our society and environment. This year’s social campaign Empower aims to empower individuals with physical disabilities and foster an inclusive environment that celebrates. Our vision is to foster an inclusive environment that celebrates and empowers individuals with physical disabilities, raising awareness about their everyday challenges.
By focusing on the youth population, we aim to create real impact through increased campus accessibility. We strive to break down stereotypes, challenge misconceptions, and promote understanding of disability as a spectrum of experiences. Engaging in online and offline events, we aim to garner significant PR for Saarang and build fruitful associations with other bodies. Our goal is to provide increased visibility for the differently-abled community through cultural activities.
Moreover, this year we have our social campaign collaborators as Teach for India and DCF Band, a differently abled music band that advocates for our cause and will be playing during Saarang’s social campaign. Make sure to check them out!!
How Can You Help Us?
And to make Saarang 2025 an even greater success, we are turning to our alumni community—the very heart of this legacy. Your support will directly impact the festival’s core, enhancing the experience for current students while upholding the traditions and memories that you helped create. Together, we can continue building the legacy of Saarang for future generations.
We are planning to do the following:
* Donor Recognition Plaque: A physical or digital wall that prominently displays the names and logos of alumni and their organisations who contributed significantly to the fest will be displayed in the Heritage Center.
* Time Capsule: Donating alumni can leave memorabilia, message, memory, or advice for future students of IIT Madras and Saarang organizers. This would be stored digitally or can be displayed at the Heritage Centre, and showcased at future Saarang events.
* Prize Money: The prize money for events in Saarang will be funded accordingly for multiple events. According to requirement, we can also customize prize naming for club events according to the alumni’s choice.
* Proshows Nights Artist Fees: We would also be allocating the funds raised for funding artist fees for Proshows nights.
Your contribution, however big or small, will help make Saarang 2025 another incredible chapter in the story of IIT Madras!!!
Please find attached the cost breakdown for the 6.7 Lakh sponsorship fund requirements here. The funds raised will be allocated towards enhancing the prize pool, covering logistical expenses for event execution, and providing necessary facilities for participating teams.
