About the cause
After a two-year dry spell of online fests, the 28th edition of South India’s most loved fest is back on-ground.
The campus streets will come alive to refresh Saarang veterans’ old memories and sear new ones in the minds of the newer batches. Witnessing the explosion of colours all around and the hubbub of laughter and music is something akin to a religious experience that is on the bucket list of every student and faculty member alike.
India’s biggest cultural experience will be hosted between the 11th to 15th of January 2023, complete with the youthful vigour of over 850 students pushing to make Saarang a success. With 100+ events, competitions, and 5 professional nights, Saarang is recentering Chennai’s cultural sphere to our campus with a bang this time! With big names like Sunidhi Chauhan, Pineapple Express, Girish and the Chronicles, and international artist Kaaze coming down here, the largest student-run fest is all geared up to enthrall everyone!
Saarang in the next few years is going to need to evolve into a festival which doesn't depend so much on volatile sponsorship amounts or ticket-sales. Rather, we need to establish a system where the competitive events - the part of Saarang which matter the most - can be made financially independent. This is where you can come in. Having contributed over the years towards making Saarang what it is today, we hope that you can consider helping out one more time, to make this offline edition of IIT Madras’s cultural fest grander than ever before.
We have established a crowdfunding campaign enabling alumni to help Saarang grow, and kindly request our alumni to contribute generously.
How the money will be used
Saarang prize money and Title of the prize will be renamed according to the donor's choice and will also be used to fund artist fees for Proshows.
Token of Love and Gratitude
As a token of love and respect the donors will be given Saarang 2023 merchandise to rejoice the memories of this great culture.
