About the cause
As you know Saarang
(or as few of you may remember it, Mardi Gras) is the institute's celebration of culture. For 25 years (yes it's been 25 long years of its existence!) it has been the pinnacle of such events, having seen personas of the likes of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Zakir Hussain, A. R. Rahman, Kamal Hassan, and Pt. Birju Maharaj to name but a few.
Over the years, Saarang
has aspired to grow bigger and give valuable experience and life skills to its coordinators while maintaining the standard of the largest student-run festival in the country. In fact, click here

The 25th edition is set to become the biggest ever edition of Saarang, with a unique array of events and the for the first time ever, a title of Saarang overall championship for top performing contingents.
It's been a great journey for this exquisite festival from the days of Mardi Gras. Being in the organising team we are grateful to all the alumni who left us this great treasure.
Saarang has reached a phase where we conduct 90+ events and 5 major professional shows but sponsorship amounts we raise has plateaued. Each year it becomes more challenging to run a festival with the kind of growth that the institute has come to expect from Saarang.
Our main aim is to pave a way to a Saarang which doesn't need to sell tickets to the institute’s own students and alumni.
A Saarang where the quality of talents exhibited and values learned by students is the main takeaway.
A Saarang which looks back into the good old days of Mardi Gras where the celebration of culture was everything.
To reach these illustrious goals, Saarang, in the next few years is going to need to evolve into a festival which doesn't depend so much on volatile sponsorship amounts or ticket-sales. Rather, we need to establish a system where the competitive events - the part of Saarang which matter the most can be made financially independent. This is where you can come in. Having contributed towards making Saarang what it is today over the years, we hope that you can consider helping out one more time, to make this silver jubilee edition grander than ever before.
We have established a crowdfunding campaign enabling alumni to help Saarang grow.
Request our alumni to contribute generously.
