National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL)

Description

NPTEL initiated by IITs is a programme under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India. Currently, 1000 plus web and video courses are available through an online portal, https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in. It offers courses for 4, 8, or 12 weeks in various engineering, sciences, humanities and management disciplines. Anyone can enrol for free and learn while the course certificate is given based on an in-person proctored exam that involves a fee. The objective is to make high quality learning material available to students of engineering institutions across the country, free of cost. It aims to provide a branding opportunity to business houses that support content creation and scholarships. Faculty and students in engineering and other educational institutions across India and the world would benefit from this.
