About this causeIIT Madras gives people an opportunity to endow a Chair in Applied Mechanics department, with an initial corpus of Rs.1 Cr.
The Chair is intended to recognize senior IIT Madras professors for exceptional performance.
How the money will be used
The endowment interest will be used to fund a salary increment for the awarded Professors for the Chair. The occupant of the Chair is Prof. K. Ramesh
