About this cause

IIT Madras gives people an opportunity to endow a Chair in Biotechnology department, with an initial corpus of Rs.1 Cr.

The Chair is intended to recognize senior IIT Madras professors for exceptional performance.

Chair will be named by IITM in consultation with the Donor.

How the money will be used

The endowment interest will be used to fund a salary increment for the awarded Professors for the Chair. The occupant of the Chair is D. Karunagaran
