About this causeTeam Anveshak is the student Mars Rover design team of IIT Madras. The team primarily competes in the University Rover Challenge (URC) - a premier international competition that aims to engage the best minds from all over the world in space exploratory robotics. Conducted annually by The Mars Society in the desert locale of southern Utah, USA, URC challenges student teams to design and build the next generation of semi-autonomous Mars Rovers that will one day aid humanity in exploration of other planets.
In their third attempt last year, the team successfully qualified for the finals and ended up as one of the top 12 teams in the world out of more than 84+ teams. And the team also won the Indian Rover Challenge(IRC) 2019, the Indian edition of URC . With 3 years worth of wisdom and actual competitive exposure, the team believes it can mount a serious challenge to the top teams of the world.
