Meet Team iBot, IIT Madras
Team iBot is a student-led robotics team from IIT Madras working at the frontier of humanoid robotics. Our mission is to design, manufacture, and control a humanoid robot completely in-house, using cutting-edge hardware, advanced AI, and world-class engineering.
Introducing Project Nexus
Project Nexus is Team iBot's flagship initiative to build a scalable humanoid robot from scratch in India.
Unlike many robotic systems that rely on off-the-shelf solutions, Nexus is being developed with custom-designed Series Elastic Actuators (SEAs), advanced motor control systems, reinforcement learning, and a complete simulation-to-reality pipeline.
Our goal is to become one of the first Indian student teams to represent the country in international humanoid robotics competitions, including the World Humanoid Games and other global events, to showcase Indian engineering, research, and innovation on the world stage.
