The IIT Madras Volleyball Team has consistently exemplified excellence, proudly representing our institution with unwavering commitment. Over the years, our team's resilience and steadfastness have led to exceptional achievements, including podium finishes at the Inter-IIT Championships in 2022 and 2023 and a championship victory last year, contributing to the sports contingent's first overall general championship win in 12 years. This milestone reflects our team's potential to reach even greater heights and strengthen its legacy. We propose establishing an Alumni Fund dedicated to developing the IIT Madras Volleyball Team to support this continued growth and success.
Why We Need Your Support
To propel our athletes to new heights at Inter-IIT 2024 and beyond, we need more than determination—we need your Support. Our annual participation in over a dozen tournaments and excellent record in several contribute to the shoe's high wear and tear costs and other sporting equipment. While sponsorships have provided essential gear, Gymkhana funds alone are insufficient to meet our athletes' growing needs for specialized training equipment. Your contributions can provide them with high-quality resources that enhance safety and performance, ensuring they're fully equipped to compete at their best.
How Your Funds Will Be Used
The funds raised will go toward purchasing high-quality, non-marking shoes for the IIT Madras Volleyball Team. These shoes will provide the necessary grip and comfort for optimal performance and injury prevention during indoor and outdoor training. By equipping the team with high-quality shoes, we are investing in their current season and their overall health and longevity in the sport.
Celebrating Our Recent Achievements
Reflecting on last year's achievements fills us with pride. At the recent Inter-IIT 2023, our Men's Volleyball Team reached new heights, bringing home the coveted Gold Medal, while our Women's Team fought valiantly for an impressive 3rd place. In the previous year, at Inter-IIT 2022, the Men's Team soared to 3rd place, and the Women's Team claimed 4th. These accomplishments were more than milestones; they represented the culmination of dreams, hard work, and steadfast support from our cherished alums. We also celebrated strong performances in other tournaments, including state-level intercollegiate events like the Sports Fest and the Jimmy George tournament, where the Men's Team placed fourth and the Women's Team achieved third.
