Consistently ranked India’s #1 engineering institution and recognized as an Institute of Eminence, IIT Madras continues to expand its impact across campuses and communities.
The Batch of 1985 is coming together to strengthen four transformative initiatives:
BS in Electronic Systems
Expanding flexible, industry-ready electronics education and enabling learners to earn an IIT Madras degree remotely.
BS in Data Science
Providing scholarships for first-generation and low-income students to complete IITM’s online degree program and unlock life-changing opportunities.
Device Engineering Labs (DEL)
Hands-on STEM labs in rural schools, equipping students with practical skills in 3D printing and device building.
Vidya Shakti
Bringing IITM-designed STEM learning and VR-enabled education into village classrooms, bridging the urban–rural gap.
Through this collective commitment, the Batch of 1985 is helping expand access, deepen inclusion, and empower the next generation.
