About the cause
Young Research Fellow (YRF) Program – A joint initiative between the IITM 1979 Alumni and IIT Madras.
The ‘Young Research Fellow’ program is to motivate students towards a career path in research and application of deeper learning in other career tracks.
YRF of IITMadras encourages students to take up a career in research. This is open to Third Year Undergraduate and Dual Degree Students of IIT Madras, with opportunities to experience vibrant scientific research activity ongoing in various laboratories of the institute.
The best part is, the year-long unique program is designed to provide immersive and intense scientific exploration opportunities for the students, with the participants executing research projects in any academic department or any of the numerous interdisciplinary Centres of Excellence in the campus.
The students taking this program will be mentored by IIT Madras faculty; supported and encouraged to publish their findings in reputed peer-reviewed international journals and to present their work at high-quality international conferences.
Students shortlisted for the Young Research Fellow Programme will be taught research skills and receive a monthly honorarium.
