As we all know the important role of sports in our education and here at IIT Madras, we have a rich sporting environment, enabling us to develop in other aspects as well.Every year all IITs participate in the inter-IIT Sports meet, which is a prestigious event in the student life of IIT students.
The final team for this year's inter-IIT sports meet, going to be held in IIT Bombay and IIT Gandhinagar, consists of 24 very talented individuals (both men and women) this year in accordance with the guidelines set by the board of members across all IITs. It is crucial for the selected players to have the necessary equipment and conducive conditions for training, ensuring they reach a competitive level for the inter-IIT competition. With the similar help from our esteemed Alumni our students could perform their best and bagged 3rd place (men’s) and 4th place (women’s) in the inter-IIT last year held in IIT Roorkee and IIT Delhi.
While Gymkhana funds are allocated for specific purposes, they do not cover certain essential needs of the players, such as shoes and sleeves, essential for rigorous practice sessions. Consequently, we strive each year to secure funds outside of the Gymkhana for these essentials. This year, representing the Volleyball team for both men and women, I appeal to our esteemed Alumni to consider sponsoring the team's shoes, thereby supporting our efforts to prepare for inter-IIT 2023. Your contribution will greatly enhance the team's readiness and performance in the upcoming competition.
