Description
Integrity, childlike innocence, sincerity, austerity and an incisive intellect were defining characteristics of Dr. Santhanagopalan.
He had humble beginnings in Pudukottai in a large family of modest means, which made getting admission into IIT a significant challenge. His discipline, diligence, and sharp mind helped him overcome his other disadvantages and come to this institution on a merit cum means scholarship. The same qualities saw him through again when he lost his father a few days before his MSc final exams.
